About.Academic Language Learning Institute was formed in 2013 by Erick Herrmann. Now, with over 24 years of experience, Erick and his team bring research-based instructional design and techniques to teachers around the world. Workshops and coaching have been conducted all over the United States as well as in Costa Rica and Paraguay.

Established in 2013
After attending several training-of-trainers institutes, including the first SIOP Institute in 2003, Erick Herrmann began training teachers n how to effectively teach English learners/emergent bilinguals. Later, he became a trainer for Project GLAD, and then began studying critical issues such as teaching literacy, writing, and social emotional learning.
